Limiting beliefs are sneaky. They can hide in places we’re not expecting it. They can motivate our actions without our awareness.

Limiting beliefs are fears – plain and simple, fears. The fears that keep us stuck and unable to move forward in many areas of our lives and business. One area that carries a lot of fear for entrepreneurs is charging our worth.

If we allow ourselves to validate these fears we can voice many reasons why we shouldn't charge our worth. Let's examine the top three limiting beliefs that keep many coaches from charging their worth.

#1 “I’M NOT ENOUGH” — IMPOSTER SYNDROME

It’s hard to find anyone — especially any entrepreneur — nowadays who doesn’t connect on some level with the concept of imposter syndrome. To be honest, I still struggle with this one when I'm in a position to uplevel something in my business.

The strangest thing about this limiting belief is it shows up despite the truth that you have proven your legitimacy.

As long as you're not confident in who you are and your abilities to deliver what you promise, you comprise by charging lower fees.

#2 “IT’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH” — PERFECTIONISM

I can certainly raise my hand on this one too. I readily admit that I am a recovering perfectionist.

Perfectionism can keep you from even offering your services. When this limiting belief shows up you can find yourself nitpicking and pushing deadlines out again and again. You may find yourself changing your prices over and over again trying to find the elusive “perfect pricing”.

Perfectionism is just a way to hide behind things and not get anything done.

#3 “I’M NOT READY” — FEAR OF SUCCESS

This one is often not thought of but it's THE most common limiting belief. Usually, this fear centers around being seen.

If you struggle with this you may find yourself exhibiting self-sabotaging behaviors such as getting yourself to a point and then not pushing any further. This fear can end up making you play small, hence charging lower fees.

So how do you heal your limiting beliefs?

You must be willing to do two things. First, admit to the limiting belief and identify where it originated. Second, challenge it. Ask yourself, “Is this really true? What could my life look like if I chose not to believe that?’”

It's important to do the inner work if you want to achieve your financial goals.
